Ballet Classroom Direction

More times than not, when giving the body or traveling direction in a piece of choreography, and I name a wall or corner number, the dancers seldom remember where the particular numbered corner or wall is. There are several different ballet methods and as many different numbered walls and corners. While in the ballet class room, and facing the mirror, the Cecchetti method ( the method I am trained in and most often use) the corner to your right is corner 1. The corner to your left is corner 2. The corners follow suit traveling counter clock wise, 3 and 4. The mirrored wall is wall 5. Also traveling counter clockwise,  the wall to the dancer’s left is wall 6. The wall to the back is 7 and while facing the mirror, the wall to the right is wall 8. Learn  the diagram below.
